The state of the big rush...
Look who has blog posts on their store! It's a good way to keep everyone informed.
So here's the news:
The first wave (350 orders) has all been packaged and most of it sent. The last 30 are sitting on my front porch, waiting for the post office to pick them up. Those all had some sort of swag that the husband had to wrangle/make.
The next wave (450+ orders) are now being made/put together. A few of the easier paperback and single orders will also go out today. The rest will start going in groups starting tomorrow.
It shouldn't take so long for wave number two. I know what I'm dealing with now, and where the hangups are (the husband only being able to do one thing at a time) so I have a better system. I've got him making swag first, I'm signing a shit load of books, and then packing and shipping should go quickly. So hold onto your britches, we're working on it just as fast as we can.
Shipping woes...
No matter how well we package these orders, and we're going a little extreme with them, the post office somehow manages to crush some. I think they take good packaging as a challenge and seek to smash them by any means possible.
I'm not sure how I'll be able to handle this yet. I only have a finite number of books. I can't reorder the special editions. Refunds can of course happen, but I'm not sure about replacing. After this second wave I'll have to assess that capability. I simply might not have the books to do it. It's really frustrating, but I guess that's life with our postal system.
That's all for now. Time to get to work.
